Smile Fitter

What loads on the page where patients type their details?

Health websites have faced lawsuits and FTC action over ad pixels on pages where people enter health details. Practice Scan reads the public code of your contact or booking page and lists the advertising, analytics and session-recording tags it finds.

Use the page with the form patients fill in, not your homepage. If you enter a homepage we'll try to find the contact page from its links, but we can miss it.

How it works

  • We fetch the page you enter, the same way any browser would, and read its code for the tags of 16 common advertising, analytics, call-tracking and session-recording services.
  • Nothing is installed or submitted on your site, and we don't save the address or the result.
  • Tags added later by a tag manager (Google Tag Manager, for example) don't appear in the page code. If we find a tag manager, it can load more than we can see. Check its container to be sure.

What a result means

Finding a tag doesn't mean anything is wrong. Many are harmless on a page with no form. What matters is what each tag is set up to collect on the page where patients type their name, phone number and the treatment they want. That's a question for whoever manages your site and your own advisers. Practice Scan is a starting point, not legal advice.

Smile Fitter's own preview page runs none of these tags. Here's how it's built.
